I'm currently out of contract with BT and therefore not getting the best possible deal available are you able to suggest when the improvements to the broadband speed will be available in South Kyme.

Hi Stephen,

BT has stated that they are still working to complete the 'Spine' cable feeding this cabinet and that they have a number of duct blockages to clear to allow them to complete.

They are currently awaiting permission for Traffic Management from Highways and as soon as this is granted, they will have their Civils crews and Cablers at site together to move this through to completion.

As soon as we know the date for Traffic Management, I will update you.

Hi Steve!

Any news with the south kyme connection as I see the aspiration to complete prior to the original planned date is now slipping away.

Good Morning Stephen,

We had hoped to have finished this by now, but BT are still insisting it will be done before Xmas. I will ask for a more accurate update.

Latest info 11 Dec ... connection delayed now not before end 2014. See notes on Billinghay 1

Hello Steve,

I appreciate that BT or their contracted support is not your responsibility but could you ask how they can go from awaiting conection to be completed to Billinghay 1one week to requiring traffic management the following week. I suspect it will come down to the normal customer service and compentcy at providing project management offered by BT. In reality the BT Exec board should rebrand the company to ST I will leave it up to you for the S bit.

Stephen

Good Morning Stephen,

We have had concerns recently with some of the updates we have been getting and are pressing them harder to give more accurate and realistic updates. Hopefully, going forward, we can provide better updates on this basis.

Good Afternoon Peter,

Thanks for writing in.

We are having some problems with blocked ducts on this cabinet. These require excavations to access the buried duct damage.

Unfortunately, some of the blockages sit within areas where we would need to control the flow of traffic/pedestrians etc to enable us to excavate. In order to gain permission to excavate in the 'Public Highway' we would need to folllow guidelines laid down under the New Road and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) before we can excavate.

In this case, we are liaising with the Highways Dept. to establish when we can have permission to excavate (different roads have different classifications and rules around when and how you can excavate). We are pressing hard to complete as soon as possible, but we need to ensure we fully comply with all associated regulations.

We will update the website as we progress.

Steve

Hi Steve, I hope this post finds you well and looking forward to the bank holiday.
I see we are no further forward with cabinet 1 at Billinghay, 16 weeks late or 24 weeks late if I go by BT's rather optimistic initial date of Oct 14. Please don't feel like I'm after another completion date as they are rather pointless and psychologists always say a sign of madness is repeating the same thing but expecting a different outcome. My request is for a contact name or address to whom/where I can send a formal complaint as I believe BT are being funded for this work through the government so someone must be accountable for this poor value for money. Thanks in advance Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

Apologies for not getting back sooner, I have been away for a few days. I am well thank you and I trust I find you liikewise.

I can understand your frustrations and if you wish to write to someone, perhaps BT might be the first port of call. To that end, it may be as well to start with their Regional Partnership Director - East Midlands | tel: +44 (0) 20 85878500 | email: paul.bimson@bt.com | BT Group
