Lincoln exchange 113

#1
LN5 7TR

Last December Openreach declared the above exchange as "accepting orders" then around September they said it was "under review" so far I can't get through to BT to ask what are the review conditions are, I know for a start its not demand I have a list of 67 of 90 flat occupants who are clamouring for better services than BT' ADSL2 packages. It's not really a speed need for most of them they're just looking for reliability i however am interested in the speed benefit fibre services are able to provide.

Because seeing as Thorngate house which has less potenial profit due to less properties in which the services can be installed and is harder upgrade at cabinet level because there's broadgate dual caridgeway in the way makes us wonder what or who is doing rollout planning.

Now that the works on canwick road have started in which BT are I think laying new trunking and cables will the broadgate exchange be upgraded as a result of the new cabling further down the road?

TLDR when is the Cab 113 likely to be upgraded?

Good Morning Daniel,

Thanks for taking time to write to us.

Cabinet 113 sits within BT's Commercial Rollout and doesn't form a part of this project. Under their Commercial Rollout, BT will look to upgrade cabinets as a part of business as usual and their planning and timings sit poutside of our control.

However, they haven't included your postcode in our phase 2 (Secondary Funding) planning, so we assume that it is 'Live' within their Commercial Rollout programme.

Is there a contact number I can ring that you know of that will reach the rollout team for BT then because there sales customer service is worst than garbage for information. Or should I just keep asking for the escalation team until I get someone with something useful to say

Hi Daniel,

It's probably best to try to escalate within BT as the guys we deal with are dedicated to this project only.

GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY. (In Doughtys Court area atleast.)

progress is being made ..................sort of

So tested my postcode after a colleague mentions his address is having infinity installed and Openreach have marked the exchange as AO Accepting Orders at last however this news hasn't reached the suppliers yet apparently. Or is his is just like last time and it will be changed back in afew days to under review again.

BAD NEWS EVERYBODY.........................

Openreach has once again marked the exchange as Under Review.

It was short lived and even when I did try to place orders with multiple companies all to be turned down as 'our system hasn't updated give us a call in a week.' Guess after 15 months of trying to get upgraded to new Fibre services I'll have to continue campaign and irritating the on Lincolnshire Staff.

Update: Cabinet 113 Still marked "under review"

however more works in the city November 1st sees the start of works to the following roads more on why this is angering me in but a moment.

to find more info on the works going on in your area go to roadworks.org enter your postcode and select 12 months out click on the roadworks addition then refresh click any Phone Icons , then prepare to get unreasonably angry that Geoff 2 streets away is getting superfast or cable and you arent.

Silver Street
Clasketgate
Lindum Road
Broadgate (the northbound top bit near the junction)

i understand this is a business heavy area with a big student building in it Danesgate House and Lindum Rd has just had Greestone Mount built these are populated areas again right on my doorstep that are benefitting from the rollout. yet still there is no information from BT or from Onlincolnshire (i check the project status page every friday to see if anything is on there about Lincoln Cabinets.)

has there been any progress on cabinet 113

Good Morning Daniel,

Cabinet 113 still sits outside the scope of this programme and therefore, we have no knowledge of what BT may or may not do.

Additionally, it doesn't feature in our Phase 2 contract because indicative ADSL speeds are above 15Mb/s.

15mb that sounds great when will that be available sounds great, my recorded speeds are 11mb/700kbs at the moment through speedtest.

cant seem to loaf youtube and twitch without long loading times atm i've contacted BT who insist there is no fault on either end.

since they apparently dont need planning permission for cabinets i cant use the planning application inquirey site to enquire about where the next cabinet is likely to spring up, roadworks.org is useful but after this november 1 through december 2017 nothing is listed yet. who is behind the silver street, lindum rd, clasketgate and Broadgate installs as the speeds in those areas arent much lower than what you say mine is its not likely to be onlincolnshire must be BT commercial?

Good Morning Daniel,

Cabinet 113 still sits outside the scope of this project and any decision BT make under their commercial rollout is also outside of our sphere of influence.
