Billingborough - Cabs 2 & 3

#1
Hi,

Billingborough cabinets 2 & 3 were due to be enabled during phase 3 (July - December 2014) of the OnLinconshire BDUK project. These cabinets were put in place mid July and yet we are now in the middle of January, beyond the phase enablement date, and these have still not yet been enabled.

Do you have dates as to when these will finally be accepting orders.

Kind Regards

Terry

Good Morning Terry,

Unfortunately, BT has told me that there are multiple duct blockages affecting both cabinets. Thety have been working on these and have cleared a significant proportion, but are quoting mid-February as a potential completion date.

Hi,

Can we have an update as to the status of the Billingborough cabs please?

I understand from the latest news bulletins and other threads that there have been significant problems with blockages, particularly near high pressure gas lines.

Could you give us a "best case scenario" date and a "proceed at current pace" date for the Billingborough milestones, please? Will the work be affected by the works that Western Power Distribution (East Midlands) are conducting in Billingborough?

I am on Billingborough 4, which I understand is downstream of 2 & 3.

Kind regards,

Tristan.

Good Morning Tristan

You are correct in your assessment of our updates, in that we are having significant problems with duct blockages, particularly in the Culverthorpe area where traffic management is a rather complex problem we are dealing with.
We are hoping to bring these cabinets to completion during the period April to June 30th. Best case scenario is end of April/early May, other than that, they are due to complete by end of June.
The Western Power work shouldn't affect us, unless they themselves create more duct damage, which hopefully, they won't. We are pushing BT and their contractors hard and will update as soon as we progress.

Billingborough 3 Traffic management complete in Culverthorpe which has been directly affecting this cabinet. Contractors have started works on the main feed for Billingborough and Folkingham cabinets.

Taken from yesterday's update page ... woo hoo!

From the update 24 April -

Billingborough 1 , 3 & 5 amalgamation – 1 & 5 are still on target for mid-May.

Can we have a target date for the other Billingborough cabs too, please?

Thanks,

Tristan.

Hi Tristan

Billingborough 4 is in Phase 6 and we cannot, unfortunatly, provide updates on cabinets which are not delayed. I understand that this is frustrating but there are over 800 structures in this project and we do not have the resource availalable to provide information on all cabinets. We are trying to work as transparently as possible with residents and it is our aim to provide as much information as we can, but in this instance further timescales cannot be provided - we are going to have to remain with the time slots originally provided as per the rollout plan. This cabinet should be enabled before the end of September - if there are any delays in this we can then report on them.

Thank you for your interest in the programme

Kind regards
Naomi

Hi,

From Project Update - Week ending 29th May 2015:
>
> Billingborough 5 – 1 Blockage left but this needs 3 way lights required (applied for). 29/05/15 No change

Nothing is shown as scheduled on http://lincolnshire.roadworks.org/ as yet, so I assume the application is ongoing. Is there a new expected RFS date?

With regard to Naomi's comment that Billingborough 4 is in Phase 6, when I use the postcode checker I get Phase 5 and it looks like Phase 5 when consulting the maps. Both the checker and maps are an imprecise science, so is there a better way of checking what Phase each cab is in?

Many thanks,

Tristan.

Hi Tristan

Thank you for your correspondence. The maps and postcode checker are not precise unfortunately and are meant to provide an indication of phasing rather than being a definitive guide. Also, the postcode checker indicates planned activities to a wider post code area, for example LN6 2.

We do recommend that residents contact us if they have any queries relating to the rollout plan as we have access to phasing documentation. We cannot, unfortunately, share this information as it is a very flexible document and is deemed as commercially sensitive.

In relation to the update, I have requested some more information which we will be able to publish on Friday

Kind regards
Naomi

Cabinet 3 on the Billingborough exchange, which is basically Pointon and Sempringham, you can now order fibre broadband as it's now accepting orders.

All other cabinets are still currently showing as unavailable at this time.
