PE6 0NF / PE12 0UB New Cabinet

#1
Good Morning,

After numerous letters from both the local residents and Jon Hayes (MP), the broadband for Postcodes PE6 0NF, PE6 0NG, PE6 0NE and PE12 0UB are all being upgraded. Last week we saw 500m of ducting being dug along Dowsdale Bank and the community has the following questions:

Do you have an estimated time of installation of the cabinet?
Do you know when this will go live?
Do you know if the connection(s) for the locals will be FTTC & FTTP? I'm assuming FTTC.

Unfortunately getting any information out of Openreach directly is near impossible.

Thanks

Good Morning Franek,

Postcodes PE6 0NE, 0NF, 0NG are scheduled for completion in mid 2019 under this programme. PE6 0UB doesn't appear in our data.

I'm not sure what you mean by numerous letters from residents and John Hayes MP, because none of them has passed via this office. Are you referring to letters to BT? in which case, that would have no influence on any plans under this programme.

Stephen,

Thanks for the reply.

The final post code you have checked is incorrect - it's PE12 0UB. Can you update on this postcode please?

Also, the cabinet was installed yesterday, will it take another year to get the feed live from this cabinet to the residents?

Regarding the letters; this was directly to Openreach to ask for our internet infrastructure to be upgraded.

Will the supply be FTTC or FTTP please?

Thanks

Good Morning Franek

The postcode quoted is in our plans, albeit towards the end of the current deployment stages.

On that basis, we would expect to see BT complete in around 12 months from now.

However, they are looking to close things down before then. I have no firm date as yet, but the cabinet shell going up is a good sign of progress.

Hi Steve,

Do you have any further information about when we may all be connected?

Thanks

Hi Franek,

The latest I have from BT is a completion of 30th September at the latest.

Steve, that's brilliant - just checking 30th September.... 2018?

Thanks

Sorry Franek,

I should have stated 2018. Given BT's current performance, it probably needs me to specify the actual year.

Any news for Pe120bt, we do not have good broadband speeds at all?

Hi William,

BT are quoting 30th September, but are hoping to complete sooner. When we get more detail, we will update this site.

Steve,

Are we still on for our Cabinet to be connected / upgraded in September, I.E. this week?

Our speed at home is still the same range 2.5-6.5MB that it has been for the last decade.

We have cake and champagne on order, just wondering if this needs to go on ice / back in the fridge?

Most interested about PE6 0NF, but it's to do with all the postcodes in the original thread:

PE6 0NF, PE6 0NG, PE6 0NE and PE12 0UB

Thanks

Hi,

Just following this up as broadband was not upgraded last week as stated above...

We have also received a letter today from John Henry Group stating: "We are undertaking works in this location on behalf of BT/Openreach. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience cause whilst we perform these works.... Works to take place 05.10.18 - 11.10.18"

Although this is good news that works are being carried out, shouldn't this already be done, as we were due to be connected on 30th September?

So, back to my original question, and the one I have been asking since May - do you know when our new cabinet will go live and all the postcodes listed will receive the speed update we have been promised?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Franek

Good Morning Franek,

I have passed the enquiry to BT and will update you as soon as I get a response.

If Henry's are involved, it will probably be Civils related work and should that be the case, they will only be allowed to start work when Highways have granted them permission.

Hi Franek,

BT has said that the existing duct was too badly damaged for them to use and unfortunately, they had to provide a new duct route, hence the Henry's involvement.

This was totally unforeseen and we would have to carry out 'civils' work at a time when the Highways would allow it.

I reckon this will put another 4 weeks on the completion.

Dear Steve,

Which duct is badly damaged please? As I understand they engineers layed a new duct from Shepeau Stow Primary school to the new cabinet?

Also, Henrys were supposed to carry out the works between 05-11.10 and so far no-one has been...?

Thanks

Dear Steve,

Still the broadband is not upgraded and we have also seen in the last week that an additional cabinet has been installed further down Dowsdale Bank (PE6 0NF) outside of the "Bank Cottages".

Coming back to our previous question - when will our broadband upgrade be connected please?

Thanks

Franek
