The Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council, Cllr Bill Aron, has invited businesses from across Lincolnshire to attend a networking event on Thursday 11 September and see some of Horncastle Technology Hub's latest equipment in action.
The event will give county businesses the chance to experience new technology including a UV printer which prints on materials including wood, glass and metal, a 3D printer, laser cutter, and motion sensor cameras. The cameras can slow film down to 48,000 frames a second and are used by sports people to analyse and improve their performance in their chosen sport.
There are also technology hubs in Boston, Lincoln, Louth and Mablethorpe, giving businesses the chance to try out the latest equipment, as well as meeting and making use of technology to solve real business problems.
There will also be a presentation by Trevor Ollson, who has used equipment at the Horncastle Technology Hub to create a 'gearbox' for the Raspberry Pi. This ground breaking piece of technology has the potential to improve thousands of people's experience of using the tiny computer.
Cllr Bill Aron said, "This event is a great opportunity for businesses to get together and network, as well as finding out more about what technology hubs have to offer. We're already seeing some exciting new developments as a result of people being able to try out the latest equipment at the hubs.
