Onlincolnshire will offer a behind-the-scenes look into the world of superbike racing at Cadwell Park in Louth.
Our coverage will offer a fascinating insight into the popular motor sport. We’ll interview riders and key personalities and get a glimpse inside the pit lane garages and maybe even the rider’s motorhomes.
The videos will be posted to the Onlincolnshire YouTube channel and photos will be uploaded to Instagram. All the while the team will be live-blogging the weekend’s on and off-track action on Facebook and Twitter.
You can keep up to date with what’s happening at the event by following the Twitter hashtag #BSBwired.
The race is being ‘wired’ as part of a series of events aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of digital technology. The event will take place at Cadwell Park in Louth over the bank holiday weekend between August 24 and 26.
The annual race meet attracts tens of thousands of fans from all over the UK every year. As well as racing teams taking their turn round the track, there will be motorcycle display teams, a fun fair and a children’s area for families visiting the race.
Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “There is a huge global fan base for superbikes and Onlincolnshire will be giving people access to some top-quality footage, pictures and information as it happens.
“By wiring up this event through the use of social media channels, we’re bringing a modern twist to motorcycle racing so that many more people can be a part of the event,” he added.
This activity is being delivered thanks to funding from the East Midlands European Regional Fund 2007 to 2013.
